This is a gas turbine powered helicopter. At the time this was taken it was still without the scale 4 bladed head. The helicopter sports now an OF 4 bladed head and blades on top of a Len Mount mechanics with a Jakadofsky turbine. She weighs 32 pounds ready to fly. The fuselage is by Baumann. This rendition of the Eurocopter 145 was the demo machine paint job. They literally took the front of an EC 135 and the back of a BK117 and created the 145 which can carry up to 10. Because of the raised tail rotor the aircraft is considered safer for emergency personell on the ground supporting the incident.

A nice flyby.

Stable hover before a flight.

Cockpit detail with the overhead breaker panel.

The entire cockpit is scratch built from fiberglass, styrene, cardstock, foam, cloth, and pictures. The pilots are 12" tall, so it gives you some idea of the size of the helicopter. It took 6 months to figure out how, and 2 weeks to accomplish this detail.
Aloutte "Lama"
Alas this model has met it's demise, but it was fun while we had her. Many of us enjoy using a "Bambi" bucket to play put out fires. It is extremely difficult to do, but great fun.

Hovering waiting for the bucket to settle down.

Water drop, great fun!!!!
